The plants of this genus were named by botanist Robert Brown in honor of his botanist friend Thomas Hoy.

Water
Whenever you give water, see that the water poured has completely gone out of the hole of the pot, and also keep in mind that when the soil of the pot dries properly, then water it next time.
The most important thing here is that this plant does not like wet soil, so its soil should be friable and there must be holes in the pot so that water can drain out immediately.
When it is kept in a place that receives more light, it needs more water, you have to take care of this.
One more thing has to be kept in mind that the varieties which have thin leaves require more water than those with thick leaves.
It remains to protect it from overwatering. There is very little need of water in winter, so give water in winter only when the soil looks completely dry, do not give regular water.
Temperature
Most of the Hoyas like warm environment, 18 to 30 C is the best temperature for this plant, so in winter it should be avoided to keep such a place where cold wind blows.
Humidity
The Hoya plant does not have much problem with humidity, but its growth is better and faster if the humidity is more than 60%.
Since these are tropical plants, they must be kept in high humidity to win. For this, you can fill a saucer with pebbles and fill it with water and place it under the plant. Keeping plants close by will also help.
Manure etc. Fertilizer
When new leaves are coming in Hoya plant, then they need more nitrogen rich fertilizer because nitrogen helps in foliar growth.
When Hoya is about to flower, at that time instead of nitrogenous fertilizers should be given to it, because phosphorus accelerates the process of bud, flower, fruit etc.
It is good for hoya to give liquid fertilizer or fish emulsion twice a month in summer.
You can also spread a pearl layer of compost on the top surface of the pot in spring which acts as a slow-release fertilizer.
The time to give fertilizer is only from autumn to summer, they should not be given any kind of fertilizer in winter.
Pro tips
It is a good thing to be root bound in Hoyas, so don’t report it too soon.
Looking at the light and heat, when you feel that you have chosen the right place for your hoya, do not relocate it from there again and again, it does not like to change the place.
